G.I. Joe : Retaliation (Trailer)

Gonna be dragging my woman and my sons to see this shit. No Wayans Bro *fistpump* plus adding "The Rock", Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock and Bruce Willis *headnod*. I read the entire comic book series as a kid (better than the cartoon show). Enjoyed the cartoon series (even though no one ever died from the blue / red lasers) and cartoon movie. The first "live action" movie was OK. I'm hoping this becomes the "action flick" it should be, and not some corny movie. This is taking me back to the 80s again. I must have stole 100 of these action figures as a kid... Action Figures!!!

The A-Team [official Trailer]

Can't wait to see The A-Team. Please don't be another disappointment like other films did to my childhood favorites. Previously I did a blog post that gave some props to Rampage for earning the role of B.A. Baracus...

Mad Cobra - Gundelero

Mad Cobra  was the 1st artist I ever owned a LEGIT album from. It was the album with Flex on it. I got his album and an album from Naughty by Nature on my 11th or 12th birthday from my big bro.

Just felt like hearing a classic tune!
Back in the day I wouldn't ride the jitneys (bus) that wasn't likkin off the best reggae.

Happy New Years!!

Woke up with the worst hangover I have had all year (I kid, I kid.. it's bad slight stomach pain, but its only day 1 baby). It's cot'damn 2010... I'm pissed at the 80's movies man. No hoverboards, no cyborg police, no flying cars, we did get the Star Trek (bluetooth/cellphone) and computer shit though.. Overall I say we have about 33% of what the 80's movies promised us. THANK GOD (whichever deity you prefer) we didn't get any apocalyptic shit like some movies were saying.

Anyway, another year down and my resolutions for 2009 are over, I think I did most. For 2008 I got them all done (shakes dreads I started in Nov. 2007)... Hopefully the short list I have for 2010 is easy. Already started working on some of them. The hard part is sticking with it around March, shit or even as late as July, if you get that far the 2nd half of the year is easy because it is a part of your daily routine.

Just washed my locks because of the smell of cigarettes (other people) when in crowded areas. So as I came out I said, I'mma watch Shottas (2nd best hood movie of the last decade, #1 Baby Boy) so that's what I'm doing... Have a good year people. If you can take 1 line from Bigs from this movie, "Today, we rich!". Make that day everyday.

RIP to all the friends and family I have known that didn't make it to 2010.

The Karate Kid (Jaden Smith & Jackie Chan)

Jaden Smith continues to land big roles, Thanks Pops! - and Jackie Chan just does any role offered to him. Have you seen the trailer of him babysitting some kids like that Vin Diesel flopped movie?

At 1:34 I think I saw me a Crane Kick? Yup, it was a Crane Kick.

I'm happy they are remaking this and I hope it isn't bashed by racists because Daniel-san is now Dre-san. They need to remake more classic movies, well not remake but redo in a modern setting like The Karate KidOriginal Karate Kid Crane Kick and NES Game (yes I love my retro games)

Sega Genesis Retro - Firecore

| Posted in | Posted on 12/15/2009

The Sega Genesis Firecore system is jam packed with 20 licensed games pre-loaded into the system. It also plays original Sega Genesis cartridges. Full list of pre-loaded games:

  • Golden Axe
  • Crack Down
  • Altered Beast
  • Sonic & Knuckles
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Alex the Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
  • Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja
  • Columns III
  • Gain Ground
  • Arrow Flash
  • Ecco Jr.
  • Flicky
  • Decap Attack
  • Cyber Police ESWAT City Under Siege
  • Alien Storm
  • Shadow Dancer
  • Sonic Spinball
  • Jewel Master
  • Kid Chameleon
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
If you bought those games from a fleamarket, craiglist or ebay at $3 each (and if they all worked), it'd be sixty bucks right there. Then you'd have to worry about are they working, storage for the 20 games etc. I love retro-gaming and my youngest son is 4 he will love this. Plus I want an 80's classic car. I think it'd be cool if I ever installed an indash DVD player, to connect a Firecore to it.

Mopar the forgotten Ol'Schools...

Dodge Demon & Aspen are two Mopar cars that catch my eye...

I’m a huge fan of Mopar muscle cars (Dodge / Plymouth). Everyone I hear in southern rap is up on the Chevies. Does anyone rep Ford ( Bueller, Bueller, anyone ? )

I always wanted a Baracuda but a decent one in driveable condition, starts at the price you could pay for a new Challenger SRT. In that instance, I’d take the Chally. But don't sleep, when everyone is on the Monte Carlo, Camaro, Impala, Nova tip, you could be unique for half the price. Come thru stuntin in a unique ride...

Some people may not get it, Kalik isn't into the flasy ish. I prefer functional over big chrome bling, don't get me wrong. I like 22's and under on my muscle cars (preferably 20's / 22's and a lowered suspension) but I would never get chrome rims, it would be machined or billet. These old Mopars have the same bolt pattern of the Ford Mustangs, so good staggered rims aren't hard to find. You can still go wild on the paint colorway, thats always an option or flat-black it. Do you... the point is to be unique. For go fast goods, people are stuffing the 6.1 Hemi's from the new SRT's under the hood. I wouldn't rush out to do that unless I blew the original v8 though (360 which is already a over 5 liters in the Aspen R/T)

The ride Kalik wants, but slammed and on 20's classic rims! Flat Black...

Classic Atari games online...

Dunno about your family, but my cousins (and my bro later on) got their Atari 2600 back in like 82-83, and that changed my life. I was always the one of the youngest so I didn't get much game time in. Classics like Adventure, Combat, Asteroids, Galaga, Pac-Man... the list can go on.

Atari has a few games online and playable so since it's slow at work, I'm gonna mash up some Adventure and listen to some Curren$y. (the soundtracks to these games are crap). Games currently available are Asteroids, Battlezone, Crystal Castles and Lunar Lander. More games are to be added in the near future.

NES / SNES Duo Console..

If you are like me, you probably have 75-100 old games in boxes or laying around still being played from the 80's NES or early 90's SNES consoles. My sons and I still play the old games from time to time. We buy carts from yard sales and flea markets for maybe $2-$4 depending on what game it is. Come to think of it I still need a few games I am missing.. Contra, Super Metroid, Metal Gear 2 are some off the top of my head.

The Retro Duo is a Nintendo NES and SNES in one device. It allows you to play either the older SNES games or even older NES games and can get you started into retro Nintendo gaming, if you don't want to use an emulator and play on your PC. It's one of the few things from my childhood I still enjoy. Cart games > CD/DVD games, in my opinion. They still work after 20 years, don't get scratched. (But you have to blow that dust off)

The A-Team...

By now everyone who follows MMA knows Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will be playing B.A. Baracus. Ramage and Dana White the owner of UFC got into some heated disputes, which ultimately ended up with Rampage leaving UFC to pursue the "lead" role for the new A-Team movie. The movie is filming now...

On another note I am happy he got the role. We need another Black Action Hero, with Wesley Snipes out of the way and doing straight to DVD movies after his tax evasion stuff. My hopes were on Michael Jae White (Spawn, Batman, Black Dynamite). With the way Black Dynamite was released and handled I don't think that will be his major break into the Action Jackson mold set by Carl Weathers (who also played Apollo in Rocky, Predator and other classic films) and Mr. T (also in Rocky and the original B.A. Baracus)

Rampage I hope this furthers your career... Good luck bruh!

Directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces), with (L-R) Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) as Face, former UFC champion Quentin ''Rampage'' Jackson as B.A., Sharlto Copley (District 9) as Murdock and Liam Neeson as Hannibal.

4:45 in the morning w/ Makaveli....

Just got off the side job, knocked it out in 2 1/2 hrs tonight. Can't sleep though, going to go in early for 6am at my "career" day job. So I can dip out early and buy them RESN Dunks.

So I'm browsing Datpiff.com looking for new mixtapes. Seen another Pac mixtape (same old songs / new beats), normally I skip most of these. Not because I hate Pac, dudes the greatest rapper ever, sorry BIG fans. Most mixtape DJ's make his stuff sound like garbage and I feel like they are desecrating a legend.

I hit play on the streaming player, I'm only on track 3 "Closest Roaddog" now (because I've repeated it like 4 times). Pac and Big Syke, takes me back to the "All Eyes On Me" album. A song where the DJ chopped 3 Pac verses into a finely tuned Westcoast gangsta rap, with Syke on 1 verse. This took me back and sounded new and fresh at the same time.

Pac is still the greatest, dude died young, imagine if he got 5 more years to craft his skill, imagine 15 more years (like Jay-Z)...

I don't know how the rest of the tape is, shit Soulja Boy is featured on one of the songs. But Track 3 is worth the listen...

Bo Jackson's Air Trainer 34's (Minus the 34)...

Bo Jackson Air Trainer SC Black/Grey are arriving this week in Footlockers around the country. Check your mall, and most likely you can grab a pair. These are a regular release not limited or anything.

I owned the original pair of these "The 34's" were on the back heel where the Nike is now. I had bought them in 7th grade (summer of 91 I think) and kept em in clean condition for 3-4 years. One of my homies borrowed em to wear to a party. The next day, bright and early his lil bro, wore my Bo's to mow the lawn. They got pretty messed up from wet grass staining them green. I never even took em back.. I just said keep em and was disgusted. I always missed them, so I am buying again.

Thanks Chris, for ruining my 1st pair of Nikes that I bought.

Jordan 1 - 2010 release - XX inspired

My fave Jordan silhouette is the Air Jordan 1, simple clean and a good shoe period. I also love the Nike Dunks, and Big Nikes (that are very similar to the J1). In 2009 my must buys from Jordan Brand were the Tribes, the Hall of Fames, and the DMP pack (when it went on clearance). The all red, or zinc may be a Christmas purchase after I see them in person.

The first 2010 colorway to catch my eyes are the ones that pays homage to the Air Jordan XX. It combines the simple styling of the Air Jordan 1 and the intricate detailing of the laser etching characteristic of the Jordan XX.

Knowing is 1/2 the Battle!

Every 4pm afterschool in the 80's, during the Regan Era. When USA was Good, and Russia was Evil, and during the "Say No To Drugs", us kids could enjoy violence on TV...

If you lived in the Islands like me, and watched it all fuzzy on Antenna (we didn't have satellite), you know that feeling you got when the theme song started...

Look at that picture below.

What ’80s TV cartoon lover wouldn’t want that set as he (or she, I suppose) ages sadly into nerdy middle age?

It’s everything that was good and right about after-school television during the Reagan era. It was good battling evil with weapons that never hit anybody and exploding vehicles that always ejected their passengers before they were harmed. Ahhh action, violence ... but hey nobody will die. < edit: I read the  GI Joe comic books and people were dieing in that..... oh boy! >

The G.I. Joe Complete Series DVD Set from Shout Factory hits stores on Nov. 11, though it’s available via pre-order online now. For just $145, you get 17 DVDs including all 95 episodes of the TV series. Special features include eight new retrospective featurettes, G.I. Joe’s original 1963 Toy Fair presentation, the “Knowing Is Half the Battle” PSAs, a printable episode script and a G.I. Joe dog-tag-style flash drive.

To top it off this won't leave you disappointed like the live action movie did (I fell asleep watching it), I will watch the DVD again to see if I missed anything.

Everybody likes swingers…

Everybody likes swingers… Nope I don't mean husbands and wives that go out and swap partners for a night of fun.

I meant crazy dudes swinging thru jungles on vines like Tarzan, by a whip Indiana Jones, webs like Spidey... but one of my faves is a guy with a mechanical arm, and a big gun. Most gamers from the 80's played it Bionic Commando I still own my copy, it also was also the first game I "turned over" (Bahamian slang for beating a game), beat, completed or finished, whichever way you prefer to say it.

My bro just sent me a link to part 4 of the series, I think its part 4, does it matter? May buy a console again... been fending off my game addiction. Will tie a belt around my arm, and try swinging from a tree later... Better, I'll have my sons try.
